Have you ever felt like your degree was a total waste of time? Well, GM is going to prove to the students in North America once again that they are the engineers and designers of the future by offer them more than $100, 000 in prizes every year in the challenge to create a more fuel efficient SUV engine and transmission, but not lacking in the performance that modern day consumers expect.

If that doesn’t sound complicated enough, these trials are taking place during these students finals.

I know that most people complain about the influence that mass media has in the world today, and that most ‘reality based’ television is a complete waste of time and I couldn’t agree more. However, when it encourages things like this to happen which actually may improve how we treat our global environment, you have to ask yourself, why are we still watching big brother in this country?

It is my goal to open the eyes of people in Europe and try and encourage this kind of involvement in green action, not only by those who are still in university, but also by the media who seems to think we enjoy watching exhibitionists locked in a house.�
